Daily activity briefing (DABS) template
The daily activity briefing sets out the next shift for an area: the activities and who leads them, plant, permits, deliveries, the toolbox talk and the key risk. It's planned the day before and briefed to the gangs at the start of the shift, and everyone briefed signs for it on the second page.

New to it, or want to know what gets a sheet knocked back? How to run a daily activity briefing (DABS).
Keeping it in Dayworks
In Dayworks, the briefing is planned on screen, published, and sent to managers and supervisors as a sheet. The day's allocation and diary then start from it, so the activities are only written once.
Other templates
- Daywork sheetRecord the labour, plant and materials used on instructed daywork, with a box for the client's representative to sign on the day.
- Site diaryA day's record for one area: weather, labour, what was done against the plan, deliveries, visitors, instructions and delays, signed off at the end of the shift.
- Labour allocation sheetBook each person's hours against the day's activities, with totals by person and by activity, so every hour on site is accounted for.
